Great module that is offering a lot of great opportunites to players to do things in unusual ways!!

I think the first version was more intersting with the fire dammage every turn at a certain point (trying to stay as sploilerless as I can)

Most fight are trivial and probably (ressource drainers)

The last encounter is amazing. THO YOU MUST READ THE FINAL FIGHT AND THE STAT BLOCKS OF CREATURES INVOVLED... they have amazing stat block but if you don't know well your creatures and the final might end in 2-4 tours (like that alawys do in AL tier4)

The final combat is amazing. Requieres a lot of prepartion to be worth a challenge for the usually AL broken tier4 PCs.

According to PCs, consider being in a cave with a low ceilings.

Not much intersting plot in here and it still fits well in the 4-parts S07 tiers 4 story arc

at least just for the final combat. YOU. MUST. PLAY. THIS

Season 5 tier 4 were IMHO not challenging. Definitly great adventures overall, but a bit of a walk in the park.

Now this 4-parts stuff is something!

That one with the last are my favorites.

A lot a RP opportunities. Players need to make plan and strategies so cirumvent some pretty harmful environnemental effets. This brings them out of comfort zone and is just great (no for overbody tho!)

But those 4 season 7 adventures. Your group and you will have a great time!

One of my favourite adventure.

If you run the ToA HC, you should at least read this adventure. gives some insight and information about Malar's Throat. Also comes with a Urban Chase complication specific to Port Nyanzaru.

The absolute highlight of this advenure? YOU GET THE POSSIBILITY TO BUY A BELT BAG... LIKE A REAL BANANA BELT BAG!

This is way too cool IMHO.

Ok joke apart, I don't want that last comment to be interpreted as "well if the coolest thing is you get to buy a bag, the module must not be so great".

The story is great and greater as part of the trilogy of tier 1 adventures. There are nice mechanics and checks that make this unique and different from the previous seasons' adventures.

ps : you want to roleplay a grung that serves as a guide for your players? say no more, run this module

Not incredible but still super fun.

The whole Tier 2 trilogy is great and a must run for anyone who likes at least a bit Chult and everything going on there.

There is a pretty nice foreshadowing of the tier 3 and tier 4 modules as well as even other tier 4 adventures of AL. I won't spoil anything but if you prepare a bit and run stuff in a semi-closed group, you can build a super intersting story with this one and all the modules of the season 7.

The adventures are interesting but not much.

What I found the most a shame is that there is no conclusion to this adventure. DDAL07-01 had 4 miniadventures and the fifth was the conclusion. That was pretty great.

Here you are sent on a mission to 5 spots and you never hear of the outcome of it... this is a letdown for me who really like the story behind the modules.

But what makes it 4 stars and not 3 is that taken as stand alones, the mini-adventures are really fun to run and to play. Nice mechanics and everything.

Also great to have tier 2 adventure that you can run on a short time-slot.

That's a great module.

What is great is that there is a lot of way this can be played and end. I've run it twice and play it once and all experience were completely different.

your players like combat? they will be served they prefer roleplay? they will be served too!

the intrigue also is pretty well written and easy to follow... something the writing make it weird and hard to understand the author intent but here everything is pretty good from that point of view!

This was actually the first tier 2 I've done as a player and it will stay a memorable experience. Just prepare it will because of the intrigue behind it, it is ideally not something you should run after having read it 5 minutes just before play. Can be done this way but not optimal.

This is the first module I ran. Pretty fun and interesting.

You have some investigation to do in the begining. A lot of RP occasions. A lot of clues to find here and there by the players. Feels like a Sherlock Holmes adventure.

Then the other party is great too. A nice chase.

The final fight is GRRRRREAT. Not something you would see coming. Foreshadows pretty well everything that is happening in Tyranny of Dragons. Also, the magic item is usually preeeeetty much appreciated by the players.

This is MUST play for players and un MUST run for DM.

As I always say when I speak of S01 adventures, you should REALLY run this season as a whole. Like a mini hard-cover. The story-arc is so great. The NPCs are nice. This module is great as a stand alone but becomes way greater when included in the season.

This module was enjoyable.

But I must admit it felt a bit like it lacked something... I think I really really liked DDAL07-07 so I got my expectations pretty high for the final chapter of the trilogy.

Also, I think it is too bad that this module REAAALLY overlaps with one of the Guild Adept adventures Ruins of Matolo.

So a great module. Playable in 2 hours no problem. But missing a little something.

This adventure is crazy cool.

Requieres a good preparation because it's stuffed with puzzle and traps. It nearly felt like a mini Tomb of Horror.

Also, like the synopsis says, you have to help some Candlekeep guys. Without spoilers, I will just that this ties pretty damn well with Those That Came Before. Meaning Those That Came Before is really good "sequel" to this module. I won't say why to avoid spoilers but this is good stuff.

Please, don't think you can run this after reading it 20 minutes just before play. This is the kind of module that needs (and deserves) a good prepartion. Also, there is a bunch of handouts to print for puzzles. Have more that one copy to hand out to the players is a good idea.

First half offers great RP opportunities. It is really cool. I've been running a few season 1 modules with the same group and they really blend well altogether!

Second half is a classic dungeon crawl. With simple and classic but great monsters/traps/etc

As a standalone, it is average. But you should really run all of season 1 modules like a "mini hardcover" and all the adventures kinda blend and it makes something really cool!

So average as a standalone, but good as a part of all season 1.

Fun but messy!

The first part is really cool and really theatre of the mindable. Full of random stuff happening and confusing for the player, it sets a great feeling for the adventure.

The second part is great too. But the mess being. There is waves and waves of monsters that comes in. Most of large and huge. The map gets crowded really fast. I runned it theatre of the mind. It was way more simple. The players enjoyed!

The last part was crazy (but crazy cool!) The module doesnt not mention the dimension the airship dimension. I drew it too small. Dozen of trolls, bunch of cloud giant, scrag, wyverns... a lot of stat block to manage and my trolls could not attack because they could not reach the PC. Nonetheless we had a lot of fun! I swapped the boss 8th level spell of Antimagic Field. In last resort I had him grapple a caster and jump out of the ship... kamikaze style, was funny.

Player can easily miss the treasure of the Morkoth, I don't know how intentionnal that is... If you are a kind DM you just say "you sure you dont wanna check the room before you start chasing the giants?". It's up to you!

Also general note, all of the fights are overall pretty easy. Don't hesitate to max HP every creatures!

Final note : The story send you after Rajiram, but in the end, it is not him. But nobody says it. How does the players know that Dworkin is not Rajiram? ... Might be a good idea from the storytelling point of view to add a letter on Dworkin... Like a letter from Rajiram saying "yeah go grab the eye for me thanks bla bla bla"

I think Tier4 modules are hard to write. This one is great.

Story : excellent, great follow-up of the Baron Rajiram story that started in T3 modules.

Difficulty : Easy. DO NOT FORGET THE UNDERWATER COMBAT RULES. But my party had 3 casters out of 5 so they were not penalized by the underwater. If you have more of melee weapon and range weapon fighter, the fights will be harder.

The last fight is a nice challenge for the DM. You have a mix of spellcasters and non-spellcasters to control, there are like 5-6 different stat blocks (at least only one spellcaster type). Be ready and try to memorize most if the stat blocks or else you will kill the momentum.

The multiple psychic damage trap were really cool too! You can DM this in a way that can be really confusing (but fun!!) for the players.

Also, no whining over magic items... like Oprah would say : ''you get a magic item! you get a magic item! EVERYONE GET A MAGIC ITEM!'' Just beware, there are many options from which the player can choose and my players took like 10 minutes to choose. This can be quite annoying in a limited-time setting.

Very good and very complete module.

The story is really great. There are a lot of great RP opportunities in the begining.

Then you have some travel are you can apply all the travel rules.

The end is great. The clock is ticking and the players have many many options to explore. They won't do everything possible which gives a really good replayability valor to this adventure.

The plot twist is awesome are hilarious.

My friends (who are experienced homebrew players) had a lot of reserve concerning non-homebrew stuff and Adventurers League. I runned this module and with them and it convinced them that Adventurers League can be quite fun and the mission are not always simple hack & slash rescue mission.

People who liked the ToA HC really must play this one and DDAL07-09 before. I can't wait for the next one to mainly for the storyline.

Players can either go straight for the last boss or can get buffs before be doing something (trying to stay spoilerless)... just want to say that if the players get all the buffs, the final boss is become a real joke. Do not hesitate to max boss' HP. My group had mainly level 15 so maybe that's why. With players more level 10 probably the boss would be more of a challenge.

With level 15, maybe add some critters with final boss to get a better action economy.
