ETERNAL KNIGHT

A Demon-Themed One-Shot Adventure
Compatible with OSRIC, 1E and 2E game systems
Recommended for 4-6 player characters of levels 6 to 8

Hello and welcome, adventurers and Game Masters!

This is my first adventure in my SO-Series of Old School one-shot's which are intended for with very little preparation by the GM or the players! This supplement contains a completely original adventure, which should provide an estimated play time of 3 to 4 hours; a quick night of role-playing fun is right at your fingertips!

SYNOPSIS:

Long ago the brave knight Inara Marteen, Paladin of the Light, sacrificed herself to save this world. She lost her life leading her holy order’s charge against an invading horde of demons from the Planes of Hell. Inara fell in combat, where she single-handedly defeated the demon lord known as Soul Eater, driving it and its infernal minions back through their demon gate. There in the fires of Hell, banished for 100 years, Soul Eater sat and stewed on its defeat at the hands of the warrior maiden.

A century has passed since that fateful battle and now, free from the bonds of banishment, Soul Eater has returned to this plane to exact its vengeance, first upon Inara and then upon this realm! Finding her tomb, the demon and its minions set about to defile it and destroy her rest, and her legacy.

Upon waking from her well deserved eternal rest, Inara’s spirit is angry, defiant and seeking vengeance of its own! Sensing a party of goodly adventurers near her barrow mound, her spirit has reached out to you, worthy adventurers.

Can you save this realm from demon invasion and help a noble knight to rest in peace?

Will you answer the Eternal Knight’s call?

The map's eight encounter areas are described in detail in the module's descriptive text, with room descriptions assisting the GM by calling out the clues the players need to pick up on to solve the puzzle in the final room, and put Inara's spirit to rest!

This adventure includes a carefully crafted set of SIX PREGENERATED CHARACTERS ready for immediate use by players (or the GM as NPCs). Each of the players is presented ready to play, with all of the necessary stats and gear. As a BONUS, these PCs are specially laid out in handy mini character sheet; the GM can simply print out the page, cut out the sheets, hand them out and the players will be ready to go! It also includes addendums with detailed listings for the NEW MAGIC ITEMS, a NEW OSR SPELL and a NEW MONSTER, the Demon Lord Soul Eater.

This module includes a fully detailed map of THE RED EAGLE BARONY, done in the Old School style and complete with information on geography, local settlements, and areas for further exploration. Inara Marteen’s barrow mound is located just east of the village of Breyburgh, the site of the Starry Knight Press module S3 The Way O’ The Fae. The maps provides further background information for those GM’s setting their campaigns in the author’s ever expanding campaign world.

This book features 15 pages of excitement and thrills, with potential areas to expand your adventure, and it is sure to please discerning GMs and players everywhere!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
