I purchased a cardboard screen from a F.L.G.S. and noticed the following typos:

Missile Flight table differs from the one on p. 161 of rules.
In the Melee Weapons table, Stunstick doesn't print the trait "Stun" as it should from the rulebook.
Plasma Rifle gives a trait "Zero-G" although the book's Energy Weapons table p. 121 didn't. I'm going with "Zero-G" being reasonable since plasma gas would have negligible recoil.
The book has an error p. 117 where it claims a Club costs 1000Cr.! Clubs are negligibly cheap of course.

Look at pg.116 it says it costs 0. While I assume the one on pg.117 is referring to the extending riot batons and advanced polymer clubs, which I could see costing more, it probably should have been listed as 0-1000cr. Thats the way I'm going to house rule it.

The price is indeed high. Adventures .pdf cost $8.99 here, and you got a lot more usable content. On this .pdf sheet, only the 4 pages of a table are usable. I don't want to discredit the art, but the main purpose here is to have helpful tables. Beyond that the .pdf useless. The print version of this product is a completely different product.

I was wondering if it is the same size as the 1st edition screen. I can justify paying the $12 if I can just print out the updated information and put it in my old screen.

Personally I don't see how anyone can justify paying $12 for a pdf screen...waaaaay overpriced!

It is a bit high for a PDF, but for me it's more a question of paying $15-20 for a new screen and having the old one sit on the shelf, or save a few bucks and get more use out of the old screen after a little glue stick/tape/paperclip work.

13 pages would be more of a small folder w/sheet protectors
the best customizable screens only hold 8 pages
you can still use your old screen as a screen and make a folder of charts
my plan is to cut and paste from the pdf and place in a folder w/ sheet protectors

Yeah, as Pierre S says, $12.00 for a 13 page item that's mostly tables from the core book might be really pushing it.

I have to support Pierre S on this - crazy price for a pdf GM screen!

That much for just a .pdf of a referee screen? Check your pricing.

Yeah this is a bit much for a digital version. I would expect to pay this much for print copy.

Further, they made it in profile instead of landscape. While that's fine it isn't the most common format these days...not likely to be very useful if it isn't provided in a POD format.

Yes, it's probably a better idea to call it Ref Sheets instead of Referee's Screen.

That is a bit nuts since you can get the very awesome hardcover version of the screen for the first edition from Amazon for $15!

It looks like they heard our pleas and cut the price on the .pdf. Good!

Er, no, it's still $12 and it's still too damn expensive for a pdf. It seems Mongoose are determined to charge exorbitant prices for this version of Traveller.

It looks like the price for the .pdf started at US$20, not $12.

Pretty sure it started at $12. A lot of companies do this to make it look like you're getting a good deal - in this case you're not.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
